The four Star Trek Commander decks

Wizards of the Coast has published decklists for the four Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Commander decks. Each has 32 new-to-Magic cards, a foil face commander with borderless art, tokens, a reference card and a deck box [6]. The colour identities are:

  • Federation Fleet: blue-red-white
  • Landing Party: green-white-blue
  • Klingon Fury: red-white-black
  • We Are the Borg: white-blue-black [6]

Collector's Edition versions have the same 100 cards, all in surge foil. The decks release on November 13, 2026, and you can preorder them now [6]. Star City Games has also posted the lists. Federation Fleet is led by Jean-Luc Picard, Luminary [7]. MTGGoldfish has a decklist page too [8].

What's in Federation Fleet

The Federation Fleet list shows what these decks look like beyond the new cards. It has a lot of staple support: Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Mind Stone and several Talismans. It also includes Cryptic Command, Swords to Plowshares and Supreme Verdict [7].

The creature slate is mostly named Star Trek characters, such as Data, Exploring Humanity and Captain Janeway, Endgame. Other cards include Howling Mine, Fevered Visions and U.S.S. Enterprise-E, Sovereign [7]. The land section is large and heavy on multicolour fixing, including Command Tower and Exotic Orchard [7].

The source list is cut off, so check the full lists before drawing conclusions about the other decks.

New previews: green creatures

Two six-mana green creatures were previewed. Rok-Tahk, Budding Scientist gives your creatures "{T}: Add {G}{G}". When it enters, it also creates Murf, a legendary 0/1 indestructible Ooze Slug token [9]. That is a lot of mana if you have a wide board.

Species 8472 gains you life equal to the number of differently named lands you control when it enters. It can't be blocked by artifact creatures, and your opponents' artifact sources can't target it with abilities [9]. It fits decks that care about land variety.

New previews: two lands

Ni'Var Science Academy taps for {U}. It enters tapped unless you control two or more other lands. If it enters untapped, you choose between giving a creature flying until end of turn or surveilling 1 [9].

Artificial Anomaly taps for {C}. For {3}{B}, tap and sacrifice it: each opponent loses 2 life and you gain 2 life. You also create a tapped land token named New Planet that taps for any colour [9]. It replaces itself as a land, so it looks like a fair utility land for black decks.

A Simic lands brew: The Traveler

EDHREC's Star Trek preview piece covers The Traveler, a */3 Scout with reach and vigilance. Its power equals the number of differently named lands you control. The author builds it as a Simic lands deck, like Tatyova, Benthic Druid or Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait. The difference is that it can win through commander damage [2].

The suggested ramp is extra land drops, such as Exploration Broodship. Late-game recursion comes from cards like Crucible of Worlds and Icetill Explorer [2]. Species 8472 also cares about differently named lands, so it could fit a deck like this. That is my own inference, not something the source says.
