Spoilers are done, and the dates are set

MTGGoldfish says the last Star Trek cards, including the final two rares, have been revealed, so the full gallery is now available to browse [5]. That gives Commander players a complete picture before the set arrives.

Wizards of the Coast lists the key dates. Prerelease events begin on November 6, 2026 at local game stores, and the set releases on November 13, 2026. Preorders are open [2].

Each Prerelease Pack has six Play Boosters, a traditional foil promo card, a deck box and a spindown die. Prerelease players build 40-card sealed decks. Wizards stresses that these events are casual and friendly [2]. They are a relaxed way to see the set's cards in play before you build your Commander decks.

What the tokens and art cards look like

Wizards has published its token and art card overview. Every Play Booster has one non-foil double-sided token. There are 27 different full-art tokens in total, including 10 Officer tokens, 3 Klingon Warrior tokens, 2 Borg tokens and 2 Clue tokens. A Tribble token and a Murf token are also shown [1].

For Commander players, each Star Trek Commander deck includes 10 double-sided tokens. They are non-foil in the regular decks. In Collector's Edition Commander decks they are surge foil on one side and non-foil on the other [1].

Collector Boosters contain either a traditional foil double-sided token or an art card. Any full-art token from the Play Boosters or Commander decks can show up as the foil token [1].

An early look at Commander Spock and Captain Kirk

Star City Games has published Star Trek Commander early-access decklists, including a Commander Spock list by Jan and a Captain Kirk, Boldly Going list by Jim [4].

The Spock list mixes new Star Trek cards with familiar Commander staples. The Star Trek cards include Captain Kathryn Janeway, Captain Pike, Fullness of Time, Seven of Nine, Unassimilated and Genesis Device. The staples include Sol Ring, Farseek, Swords to Plowshares, Path to Exile and Beast Within [4]. Its 34-card mana base also includes Command Tower and several dual lands [4].

The Kirk list is only partly visible in the scraped excerpt, so we can't say more about it here [4]. Treat both as community starting points, not final builds.

A different way to play: Pack It Up Commander

Star City Games also launched a Commander video series called Pack It Up Commander, hosted by Ben Bateman. Four players each randomly draw a precon from the Library of Legends, which holds every version of every Commander precon back to 2010 [3].

Each player then drafts 10 upgrades from the Chaos Codex, a curated pool of 40 powerful cards that includes game changers and banned cards. After the games, the decks are returned to their original form and given away to viewers on YouTube [3].

It isn't Star Trek news, but it is a fun format for groups looking to shake up their Commander nights.
